Jill is first asked by Lia to be a model in a runway show in Bloodlines but declines because she is in hiding and can't risk pictures of her appearing in magazines. Jill manages to model in Lia's show by wearing a mask on stage and turning the show into an extracurricular activity for school by signing up for a fashion elective.
The Golden Lily[]
She is seen again in The Golden Lily, when Lia tries to get Sydney to allow Jill to model for her in another photo spread, but Sydney decides against it, saying it would be too risky. At first, Lia tries to bribe them by making them custom Halloween costumes and giving them gifts, but in the end, she tricks Jill into being photographed for the shoot, and when her photo is published for the whole world to see, Sydney has a huge problem on her hands.

- Agility: Humans possess agility that is less than that of the Moroi and Dhampir and are not as agile as the Strigoi.
- Daytime Walking: Unlike the Strigoi, humans can walk around during the day.
- Endurance: Humans do not have an advanced musculature that produces fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity and thus tire faster than Dhampir. Humans are less resilient than Dhampirs.
- Memory: Humans have great memory when it has been trained.
- Metabolism: Humans have a metabolism that differs from person to person. Some humans have faster metabolisms, which helps them be resistant to diseases. This metabolism is not as advanced as that of a Dhampir.
- Senses: A human's five senses are not greatly heightened but can be trained to a certain extent.
- Strength: Humans are not exceptionally strong unless they train themselves to be.
- Night Vision: Humans are able to see in the dark at night to some extent.
