Earth. Air. Water. Fire.[]

In "Earth. Air. Water. Fire.", at St. Vladimir's Academy, Rose tries unsuccessfully to get Meredith to help her pass a note to Lissa, but the redhead laughs and turns her down. When asked why not, Meredith says that, strategically, this is a no-win situation for both of them.

Death Watch[]

In "Death Watch", at the Dhampir training grounds, Meredith and the rest of the novices are told that "the only way to deal with the massacre at St. Jude's is to learn from it and prevent it from ever happening at St. Vladimir". Janine Hathaway then states that the Strigoi attack on St. Jude's was unique since the pattern of the bodies indicates that they were herding the victims and killing them in groups. However, the Strigoi are loners. They occasionally hunt in twos or threes, but they turn on each other as easily as they do on their victims. This leads Meredith to theorize that it looks like the Strigoi's attack was coordinated. Which means that historically, it goes against what they have learned about the Strigoi. Janine congratulates Meredith on looking at the facts without bias and goes on to explain how, in the past, the Strigoi's inability to cooperate had protected them. But it seems like the Strigoi that were present at St. Judes, at least, seem to be working together.

Near Guard, Far Guard[]

In "Near Guard, Far Guard", Meredith and four other novice Guardians are thrown into an isolated area. Alberta tells them that they have to escort a royal moroi to a predetermined location and secure it by sundown. However, instead of using an actual Moroi, one of the novices will play the role. Since Rose is ranked number one, she is made team leader and put in charge of choosing who will be their pretend Moroi. Rose says that a novice named Herk will be with her on near guard; meanwhile, Dean will be far rear, Meredith will be far front, and Eddie will play the role of the Moroi. Later, Meredith and the novices are on their way to their destination. Eventually, Rose asks Meredith if there are wards set up around the training areas. Meredith states that there are, asking why Rose wants to know. While talking about humans, Rose teases Meredith for liking human things and for her crush on Mia Karp. Meredith says that there's a heart in there if you dig around a bit and that she likes what she likes. Rose walks the perimeter, but Meredith tells her not to bother since it'll be too late if she sees the Bravo Team coming. Rose suggests going to another structure, where they can make it by sunset if they leave now. Meredith agrees, and Rose takes off her patch, saying that the other Guardians can't fail them if there are no patches to pop. The novices head out to their new destination. Once they arrive, Meredith and the other novices make a plan for their defense. Rose tells them that they can do it, and Meredith praises her leadership skills. Later, Meredith, Dean, and Herk find Mikhail Tanner looking at their patches left in the human church. They bring him back to where Rose and Eddie are. Afterwards, Lissa tells Rose about the Strigoi. Rose initially doesn't believe it but then realizes that Lissa is telling the truth. Meredith wonders how Rose knows, but she says she just does. Meredith then runs off when she hears that Mia is there, and Rose calls after her. When they all head inside, Dean arrives to find Herk being attacked by Strigoi Mikhail. Meredith yells at Mia for coming. But the other girl simply says she was worried. Jesse Zeklos hates to break up their lovefest, but he wonders where everyone else is since he's starving. Meredith replies sarcastically, and Jesse says he's going to go. He offers to let Meredith get in the car, but warns he'll only offer once. Meredith takes his keys. Jesse yells at her to give them back, but she refuses. He threatens to feed on her, resulting in Meredith challenging him to try. Suddenly, Jesse is having trouble breathing, thanks to Mia. Meredith then tells Mia to look at her and say that it's okay. Jesse warns them that neither of them will get away with attacking a Royal. Eventually, Mason Ashford tells Eddie and Meredith to help him set up the perimeter until Rose catches up with them.

Molnija[]

In "Molnija", Sonya Karp asks her sister Mia if Meredith is going on the royal tour. She warns her sister to spend as much time with Meredith as she can. Elsewhere, Meredith says she hears they're pulling Guardians to help with the relocation. Rose asks which villages, and Meredith says it's all of them. Rose then asks if Mikhail was from the Caroni village in St. Ignatius province, where they are now. Meredith thinks he was. After Jesse has a fight with his father, he tells Lissa they're leaving. Eddie tells him they have to wait for the convoy back to the hotel, but Jesse says they go when he says so. Thus, he leaves with Lissa, Eddie, and Meredith following him. While on the way back to the hotel, Jesse, Lissa, Eddie, and Meredith see rocks fall. Meredith tells Lissa to get back in the car. Lissa tries to heal Meredith when one of the Strigoi attacks her but is interrupted by the arrival of more Guardians. Back at school, Sonya informs Mia that something happened to Meredith. Mia immediately leaves to see how Meredith is doing. Meredith warns Mia against using her magic like that again, but Mia says she doesn't care, not if it means protecting Meredith. She says she's glad Meredith is okay, and Meredith is glad Mia is there. The two then share a kiss.

Darkness[]

In "Darkness", as Mason is getting ready to leave, he's confronted by Meredith, who tries to talk him out of leaving on the basis that he's going to screw up his life for a girl who he's just a rebound for.

Ascension[]

In "Ascension", with the Strigoi attacking Moroi and Dhampir left and right, the Guardians are trying to fight back while the royal Moroi get loaded into buses and evacuate, leaving everyone else behind and their fates up to the Elements. During the daytime, they have a little room to breathe and come up with a plan. Thanks to Meredith, they came up with a brilliant one. There are old tunnels the Strigoi are probably hiding in, so Rose and Dimitri go into them to see what they can find.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Enhanced Memory: Dhampir have great memory and can recall thoughts and memories much more easily than humans.
  • Enhanced Metabolism: Dhampir have a naturally high metabolism, which enhances their physical abilities. Thanks to this enhanced metabolism, Dhampir are resistant to diseases and most toxins, but not alcohol.

  • Enhanced Strength: Dhampir are exceptionally strong, allowing them to defend against and potentially kill a Strigoi. They can lift objects three times their body weight. This strength is naturally greater than that of a Moroi's.
  • Night Vision: Dhampir are able to see in the dark at night.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Dhampir heal faster and more effectively than humans. Wounds such as burns and other injuries can heal within a few hours. Their increased metabolism only improves this ability.
  • Species Detection: Dhampir are able to distinguish between Strigoi, Moroi, witches, and ordinary humans via enhanced vision and enhanced smell. They can also distinguish whether a Strigoi was human, Moroi, or Dhampir before they were created.
