Rowena Clark is an art student at Carlton College.
Biography[]
She is the friend of Adrian Ivashkov, whom she met on his first day in Carlton and has continued being his friend. She is seen to be dating a cooking student, Cassie, whom Rowena admits can cook around anyone. According to Adrian, she is talented at watercolor painting.
Description[]
She is described as having lavender-colored hair, and Adrian describes her as being pretty. In Silver Shadows, she has teal-colored hair.
Personality[]
She is fairly cheerful and confident, especially in her relationship with Cassie. While she teases Adrian about liking a younger woman, she is not judgmental about his relationship with Sydney. She appears genuinely worried when Adrian runs off to the pawn shop.

The Fiery Heart[]
Adrian reveals in a flashback that he met Rowena while he was in class at Carlton School. He tried to flirt with her, but she told him she didn't like men like him. Additionally, she informs him that she likes women. Adrian told her that they would get along fine and become friends. Both Rowena and Adrian had been chosen to make a statue that represents the life of a human from the beginning of time to the modern day.
At school, in making the statue, a large part of the representation fell and hit Rowena's hand. Adrian pulled the representation off her quickly, but unfortunately, her hand had already broken. Fearing that her future career was over, he used Spirit to heal her wounds. Seeing that her hand was no longer broken, she asked Adrian how he fixed it. Adrian used compulsion to make her think that he grabbed the piece before it broke her hand. Adrian drove her to the medical clinic on campus to get an X-ray on her hand, which only showed that it was sprained, not broken. Once outside, she met up with her girlfriend, Cassie, who is a culinary student on the same campus. Rowena invites Adrian to a pub that night, but he refuses. Rowena attempts to persuade him by asking him to invite his girlfriend, whom she really wants to meet. Later that night, Adrian calls her in a Spirit attack, asking if he is still able to come to the pub with them. Once at the pub, Rowena comments to Sydney, who had come looking for Adrian, that he looked like her father when he fell off the wagon and drank large amounts of alcohol, but tells Sydney that Adrian said that he had to "unpawn," to which Sydney worked out that Adrian was at a pawnshop. But Rowena, feeling guilty, said that she should have taken Adrian home.
Later on, on Sydney's birthday, Rowena went with Adrian to the supermarket and saw that he bought frozen lasagna and ice cream for his birthday dinner for Sydney. Rowena invited Cassie to cook for Sydney's birthday dinner, including cupcakes. They both told Adrian to tell Sydney that they wished her a happy birthday.

- Agility: Humans possess agility that is less than that of the Moroi, Dhampir, and Strigoi.
- Daytime Walking: Unlike the Strigoi, humans can walk around during the day.
- Endurance: Humans do not have an advanced musculature that produces fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity and thus tire faster than Dhampir. Humans are less resilient than Dhampirs.
- Fertility: Humans are easily one of the most fecund species in the series, outnumbering every other species by a considerable margin.
- Memory: Humans have great memory when it has been trained.
- Metabolism: Humans have a metabolism that differs from person to person. Some humans have faster metabolisms, which helps them be resistant to diseases. This metabolism is not as advanced as that of a Dhampir.
- Night Vision: Humans are able to see in the dark at night to some extent.
- Senses: A human's five senses are not greatly heightened but can be trained to a certain extent.
- Strength: Humans are not exceptionally strong unless they train themselves to be.
- Technology: One of two areas that humans excel at over any other known species is technology, which is capable of even defeating Strigoi.

- Mortality: Humans weaken with age, disease, and exsanguination.
- Physical Weakness: Humans aren't very strong physically and are absolutely no match for Strigoi. Compared to Dhampirs, humans are generally physically weaker and less nimble.
- Attraction: Humans are the primary food source for both Moroi and Strigoi. Moroi also reproduce with humans to form Dhampirs.
