Stephen Badica is a royal moroi.
Biography[]
He was engaged to Rhea Dragomir (née Daniels), but how that relationship ended is unknown. Eric Dragomir resented him.
Description[]
He joked that his build was "rugged and manly" in comparison to the typically slim Moroi figure. He didn't have boyish features, but most girls liked the sharp lines on his chiseled face, especially because he always seemed to be smiling.
Personality[]
He has been described as active and uproarious, consistently at the center of the world. Loud all the time, always attracting attention and making people laugh.

Stephen was first mentioned by Rhea when she told Eric who she was engaged to. Rhea also thinks back to how her mother encouraged her engagement. After their conversation, Eric thought back to being on the beach, seeing Stephen entertaining others with jokes.
At the Zeklos Beach House, Stephen caught the eyes of everyone around him as they watched him drink a shot of whiskey while cannonballing into the nearby pool. Rhea brings Stephen up when confronting Eric about what she perceives as judgment from their first conversation. This led to Eric clarifying that he wasn't judging her and Stephen's engagement due to her bloodline but because their personalities were different from each other. Emma sees the two conversing and walks up to them. Eric pretends that he and Rhea were talking about Stephen's dive. Eric and Emma leave Rhea by herself.
Rhea goes to say goodnight to Stephen when she finds him telling a story about the time he and his friends broke into their math teacher's office. Part of the story contained ferrets and vodka. When she walks up to him, he tries to hug her but is rejected as he is soaked in the water. He kisses her instead and tries to convince her to stay, as a bunch of people were going to set shots on fire, something that she could help with. After failing to convince her, he kindly wished her goodnight.
Stephen is later seen talking with Rhea near the lagoon, with Stephen doing most of the conversing. He later motions for Rhea to go to Eric, as she and he had been paired together for the scavenger hunt.
During the scavenger hunt, Eric and Rhea talk about her relationship with Stephen and how she notices parts of him that others don't. Eric outwardly speculates that while Stephen tells her things that he doesn't tell others, he doesn't offer the same care. Eric and Rhea kissed and were caught by Emma, causing Eric to run after her and them to lose the scavenger hunt.
After Rhea and Eric lose the scavenger hunt, Eric goes to find Rhea. After not being attacked by Stephen like he expected him to, Eric asks if he knew where Rhea was. Stephen expresses that he wasn't surprised they lost the scavenger hunt and that he didn't know where Rhea was; both answers irritate Eric. Eric's search for Rhea didn't go well, so he asks Stephen again, who maintains that he doesn't know where she is and that she likes to be alone sometimes. This answer left Eric wishing that Stephen would share the same worry as him.
Once Rhea was saved by Eric from being attacked by Dennis, she asked why he didn't bring guardians with him. He responded that Stephen had said Rhea likes to take walks by herself, so no one thought that Dennis' escape and her disappearance were connected. She then realized that, while she loved Stephen, she wasn't in love with him and broke off their engagement.

- Compulsion: Moroi are able to control the minds of humans, dhampirs, and other Moroi to a certain degree through eye contact and verbal commands. Spirit users are the strongest in this ability.
- Elements: Moroi have magical abilities that allow them to control the elements of earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. Moroi often specialize in one element in particular.
- Enhanced Immune System: Moroi don't get sick like humans. Although they can contract diseases, especially terminal diseases, it is unusual for Moroi to get sick or catch viruses.
- Enhanced Senses: Moroi have stronger senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch than humans. Moroi are shown to be able to distinguish between Moroi/Dhampir/Human blood by taste.
- Enhanced Speed: Moroi are faster than humans but aren't as fast as Strigoi and Dhampirs.
- High Life Expectancy: Moroi are not immortal like Strigoi, but they still live longer than most humans. Most Moroi live up to 100–110 years old, although some can far exceed that.
- Hunger Resistance: Moroi do not have to kill in order to feed, unlike Strigoi, who always kill their bite victims, and instead feed in small, non-lethal increments.
- Limited Darkness Adaptation: Moroi possess better night vision than humans, being able to see even in very dim illumination such as starlight.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Moroi heal easier and quicker than humans, allowing them to recover from injuries quickly so long as they feed.
- Supernatural Beauty: Moroi are known to be highly attractive. They are immensely beautiful, slim, and tall; their skin is pale. However, Moroi do not need to have all of these features.

- Mortality: Despite their healing factor, Moroi are still mortal and can die of advanced diseases, exsanguination, and severe injuries. They also weaken with age, just like humans.
- Physical Weakness: Moroi aren't very strong physically and are absolutely no match for Strigoi. Compared to Dhampirs, Moroi are generally physically weaker and less nimble.
- Sunlight: Moroi are sensitive to sunlight, and while exposure to sunlight is not lethal to Moroi, it is very uncomfortable.
