Tarasov is the Moroi prison that Victor Dashkov is held in and that Rose Hathaway and her friends break him out of. In the summer, it is in Alaska; in the winter, it is in Argentina, so that the prisoners are exposed to sunlight as much as possible, as sunlight weakens Moroi.
